BioCO₂: The path to making a
real difference, today

Carbon is captured from the atmosphere by plants such as wheat, barley, wood, through photosynthesis.

This biomass is then used to produce energy, or products such as whisky, beer, paper…

The carbon from the biomass is released back into the air as an intense stream of CO₂ … Except when it is captured by operations such as ours.

By removing this carbon and storing it durably, we help reduce the amount of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere.

Our plans for tomorrow

  • We are expanding our operations to Scandinavia. We have secured a groundbreaking contract with the Danish government to deliver permanent carbon removal from 2026. We are also working with partners to further expand our delivery of carbon removal.
  • We are poised to be a key player in the North Sea when these permanent storage options open up from 2033.
  • Our goal is to capture 90% of biogenic emissions in Scotland. Over the next 5 years we will capture biogenic emissions throughout Europe, then globally – setting up the building blocks to remove over a million tonnes of CO2 in the first part of the next decade.

Our ambition:

  • Become the best at capturing and removing biogenic carbon
  • Offering a flexible and agile mode of capture
  • Developing safe and efficient, non-pipeline transport options
  • Exploring every angle to secure local and permanent storage solutions
  • We try, we learn, we adapt quickly. From our legacy dry ice business to underground storage in Denmark, we explore every route to manage carbon, gaining operational expertise to offer plug and play solutions.
