The Carbon Removers showcases Scottish innovation in the latest BBC’s Brand Scotland film

When your office is swept by Highland winds and close to the North Sea, you don’t expect your origin to be a plus in a tech world dominated by Silicon Valley. But the BBC gave us a chance to show how proud we are of our origins and how we contribute to Scottish innovation.

Scotland: A Land of Innovation

Scotland has long punched above its weight in engineering, energy and industrial innovation. It has a long history of pioneering breakthroughs that changed the world, from the telephone to discovering penicillin. Today, that same spirit drives Scottish companies to tackle humanity’s biggest challenges, from removing carbon from the atmosphere to revolutionising sustainable food production.

That’s why we’re proud to be included in the BBC’s Brand Scotland film which celebrates innovation, ambition, and the people driving progress across Scotland.

Our Work Has Deep Roots in Scotland

Richard Nimmons, co-founder, said:

Our technology has been born in Scotland. Without the Scottish infrastructure and without the engineers here, this would never have kicked off.

We’re building on that legacy and using the Scottish industrial and engineering expertise and infrastructure to deliver global carbon removal right now. Capturing biogenic CO2, starting with Scottish whisky, and permanently storing it, we’re turning an unavoidable industrial by-product into a climate solution, ensuring that whisky production can remain both sustainable and profitable.

Thanks to the team at BBC StoryWorks and Brand Scotland for showcasing the work we do with our partners White & Mackay, OCO, and INEOS, who are helping us deliver real world climate solutions today.
